Thai Police Clearance Certificate: Application and Legalisation

I help you apply for the Thai police clearance certificate (criminal record certificate) and have it legalised at the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the embassy – most often for a visa application in Belgium, France, the Netherlands or another European country.

Every embassy has its own rules about which certificate, which translation and how recent it must be. I check what your embassy asks for first, so your certificate is accepted the first time.

Criminal-records-preparation

When do you need a Thai police clearance?

  • Long-stay visas and family reunification in Belgium or another European country
  • Residence permits and some work or study applications abroad
  • Other official procedures where an authority asks for proof of no criminal record in Thailand

What I do for you

Before the application

  • Check exactly what your embassy or authority requires
  • Tell you which documents to prepare for your situation
  • Plan the timing with your visa appointment

Application

  • Prepare and submit the application for the police clearance certificate
  • Follow up until the certificate is issued

After the certificate

  • Translation when your embassy requires it, by a sworn or certified translator approved by the embassy
  • Legalisation at the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Department of Consular Affairs) and the embassy
  • Send the finished certificate by post or DHL Express to your address

How it works

  1. Message me on WhatsApp and tell me for which country and which procedure you need the certificate.
  2. Checklist and quote: I tell you what to prepare, the price and the expected date.
  3. Application: I prepare and follow up the police clearance application with you.
  4. Translation and legalisation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the embassy, if your case needs it.
  5. Delivery: I send the legalised certificate by post or DHL Express to your address in Thailand or Europe.

Timing and validity

Most embassies only accept a recent certificate, so timing matters: if it is too old by the time of your appointment, you have to start again. I plan the application and the legalisation around your visa appointment, and you get an expected date with your quote.

Sending documents with DHL Express

  • DHL Express delivers documents (up to 500 g) between Thailand and Europe in about 2–3 days.
  • From Europe, DHL picks up the documents at your home – no need to go to a DHL office.
  • When everything is ready, I send the finished documents to your address.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I need my police clearance legalised?

A Thai certificate used abroad must usually be legalised: first at the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then at the embassy of the country where you will use it. This confirms the certificate is genuine, so the visa office can accept it.

Does the certificate need a translation?

It depends on the embassy and the language it accepts. When a translation is required, it is made by a sworn or certified translator approved by the embassy. I tell you before you start. See certified translation.

How recent must the certificate be?

Each embassy sets its own rule, and many want a recently issued certificate. I check the rule for your embassy and plan the application so the certificate is still valid on your appointment date.

What do I need to prepare?

It depends on your situation, for example your nationality and whether you are in Thailand or abroad. Message me on WhatsApp and I will send you the exact checklist.

How much does it cost?

The price depends on the application and on whether translation and legalisation are needed. Message me on WhatsApp for a personal quote.

Can you also prepare the rest of my visa file?

Yes. The police clearance is often part of a bigger file. I can also help with legalisation, translations and the visa application.

Tell me where you need your police clearance – I will tell you what to prepare, the price and the timing.
